Development League

Post by Durnford on Tue Jan 27, 2015 9:45 am

For those that missed it we had three straight wins and one match abandoned, where we were well on top, during January for the Development League side.

Last night:
"Last night's Development FT: 3-1 win for Livi over East Stirlingshire. Sekajja (2) & Hippolyte on target. 2nd place now with 4 games in hand."

Hopefully good things come from the development league for us. Since we ditched the 19's league in 2012, I can only think of Donaldson, Mullen and Jamieson who have came in and made a positive impact in the first team. I know others have left early to the join the likes of St Johnstone but having seen them last week, it looks like we do have a number of young players with plenty of potential.

Beaumont and Rutherford have made appearances this season, they look as if they will make the step up. Moffat played in some pre season games too and read he did well.

They've yet to establish themselves but that's due to the competition they're facing with Talbot for Rutherford and Beaumont against O'Brien, Keaghan, Kyle etc. Rutherford has plenty of potential as we've seen during the season but it's disappointing that Beaumont hasn't been given the game time considering he made his debut back in 2012.

Disappointing Moffat isn't getting a chance too considering we've not got a RB fit and are sticking players out of position who aren't very good playing there. At least with Rutherford he got to play when Talbot was injured, or when Talbot moved to CB to cover injuries. Even got a game when Talbot was back fit.
Agree with you on Beaumont, there are times we've stuck with players when they should've been dropped and he should've been getting a game. His pass to Dycey who then put it across from the bye line for Burchill to score was outstanding. Took a cracking free kick too.

Would love Moffat to get a chance as I would Jack B.
