Alloa v Livi , why I feel Jordan White must start for us to have a chance of winning game.

Post by Smithy on Mon Mar 23, 2015 7:19 pm

In a conversation with Liviforever he pointed out that Whites scoring was too sporadic, I thought about this and thought our wins have been too sporadic too. We have only won four league games all season

So I had a wee think to myself to see if we could learn something from the games we have won and try to replicate this against Alloa. I decided to look at the stats of the games scorers and did we go for it or only scrape by.

We really have had some impressive wins scoring two in one game with 4 in another. and scoring 5 in the other two wins. So I believe if we go for it and attack teams this is our best chance of winning.

Now here is the interesting bit.

Only one player has scored in all 4 league games which we won,yes you have guessed it Jordan White.

Cowdenbeath when we won 2 - 1  he scored the winner
Alloa when we won 4-0 he scored a hat-trick
Raith when we won 5-1 he scored the first goal and set up two others
Dumbarton when we won 5-1 he scored 2 and set up the screamer for Keaghan

Thanks to Livi TV for the coverage so that I could check all this out.

So I know the lad is not everyone's cup of tea but goodness me , he has played an integral part on all of our happy times in the league this season.

We have never won a league  game that he hasn't scored in all season , so for that reason he needs to start against Alloa.

Let's get behind the bigman on Saturday and give him the support  to lead us to victory once again.

If you want to get a bit of positivity back into your hearts have a wee look at Livi Tv and these four games.

First goal 14 mins Livi win 4 -1 we don't scrape wins we hammer teams or get beat.

I'm all for going to Alloa and going for it, at least we'd go down fighting, or maybe even win a few and stay up.

Who to play up front with the big fella, absolutely no use sticking him up there himself and firing high balls up to him, done that didn't work. Mullen does well in some game but absolutely hopeless in others, Hippo is an enigma, Boulding for me is a bit like White, needs someone with energy doing the leg work, so would opt for Ibra and White. With a strong midfield to back them up so ffs put midfielders on and not strikers playing in midfield.

..........................................DJ

Dycey*................Gallagher..............Sives.................Talbot

Keaghan.................Cole**.................Kyle.....................Pittman

..................................Ibra.......White

*Actually thought Dycey did well first half getting down the wing and even trying to hit the byeline.

**Yeah I know Cole is a defender but he's strong in midfield too and we need that against Alloa.

This prediction is more in hope than actual belief. 3-1 Livi FG 8 mins.

Agree we need to play 2 up and having looked at the videos , wee Mullen has done well too in the league wins scoring in 3 out of 4 of them. I would be tempted to play White and Mullen as they certainly did well against Dumbarton in our last league win.

Smithy, I like White. He seems like a nice lad, I've even hugged him once and I think he can score goals at League 1 level. He doesn't fit into our system, and as shite as our system and tactics are, it's too late to change anything, as there isn't a player who can match him consistently enough. I prefer him to Sekajja (and certainly Boulding), but I don't think he'll make a massive difference when he's got long balls flying over his head at 200mph. I'd like us to keep him for next season.

If we go for it & go down fighting then I'm sure we'd all accept it but if we go down with the usual whimper then we'll all be rightly seething yet again.

As things stand & based on what I saw at the Vale on Saturday & the snatches of the Raith/Alloa game on Alba....Alloa will win.

3-1 for Alloa with the first goal in 25 mins

Didn't White miss a great chance when we were beaten 1-0 in Alloa last November? Also played up front in the 0-0 draw at home to them IIRC. Agree with the pair of you that Burchill just needs to go for it, no point in being conservative because we have fuck all to lose. A draw would be the same as a defeat here, tbh. The players have shown they actually have some degree of talent amongst them given the hammerings we've dished out in 3 of our 4 wins this term; I'm not getting my hopes up but it'd be a mighty fine time to make it 5 wins.

Not necessarily; I still think we'll finish above Cowdenbeath however that does still we'll be in a play-off.

Just think.... facing Bobby Barr with Brechin; or Danny Denholm with Forfar or Stranraer whoo took us to extra time and penalties... Hell; Morton's almost the soft choice.

Yeah D but we can't keep looking at it and saying we've still games we can get points and catch Cowden etc. This is another one of those games and we need to actually start winning them.

The games are quickly running out and with each one we pass up a chance at means our survival hopes are getting slimmer. Plus we're now counting on Cowden not winning any games or even getting a point from a draw, that one is just waiting to break our hearts.

On the contrary; I've already highlighted big worry that both Cowdenbeath and Alloa have yet to play Dumbarton at home - a team that was, by all attempts of description, quite frankly dreadful.

Other than that they have us at home and Raith away. I do however think we'll catch them provided we stop throwing away silly points. Of our seven remaining games we have five we could possibly pick up points from, given that the rangers and Hibs are neck down for the line, you might also argue that Falkirk will be concentrating on a play-off place. That still leaves Alloa; Cowdenbeath; Raith and QoS - all of which are potential points provided we play like we did earlier in the season i.e. before we forgot how to hold on to a win.

He started, he didn't score, we didn't win, we didn't lose, mathematically there is hope, realistically we are down.

Was actually a decent result and performance considering we went behind twice, pity we needed the 3 points. Dominated the first half against the wind and thought we'd have the advantage 2nd half but our defending for both of Alloa's goals was terrible. Was the usual Livi in front of goals missing chances, White managing to head the ball into the ground and over the bar from about 4 yards out, and Kyle breaking up the pitch with nobody in front of him only to hesitate and lose the opportunity to either get his shot off or square it for another player.

2nd half we were most dangerous from corners, free kicks and Hippo's long throw ins, and had a chance for a winner right at the end with a throw in going to Sives inside the 6 yard box but it got scrambled away.

Pittman looks comfortable playing in the Championship, hope we've got him for a few seasons. Pity their number 4 did Ibra in as I'd have fancied us to have won had he played the 2nd half, he puts a lot more pressure on the ball than Mullen and can also win balls in a tussle, Mullen just falls over.

A point last week would've been good now even though I didn't think anything but a win would do so maybe the point today will add up if we get a couple more draws and a win, you never know.

Well that was brutal. My first time at a game this season for a variety of reasons.

Jordan White is horrendous, managing to give loads of grief to everyone else (including the fans) but not taking any responsibility himself to do anything decent. He manages to shrink every time he goes up for a header and how he was not taken off at HT is ridiculous. Unfortunately this sums up Burchills management. Took off our two best players when others were offering nothing.

We looked dodgy at the back every time alloa came forward. We deserve to go down, not a leader on the pitch. As for our two goals, they were both embarrassing, we have turned into a very bad Stoke side, at least the could score directly from a set piece.

Sad thing is Sives is the best player we have going forward.

just a wee correction mate it was also Kyle who headed it into the ground and over the bar,he should have done better on both occasions. DJ cost us once again with sloppy goalkeeping and his kicking the ball out of the park at least four times was terrible to watch.sunderland says White was giving grief to people well he was certainly giving it large to DJ who deserved it and to say he should have subbed is rediculous. Cole had a mare as did Kyle and DJ . So I must have watched a different game to Sunderland but hey ho that's football, it's all about opinions .

At least Kyle got in a position to f*ck it up. DJ had to o goal kicks and maybe should have judged the wind better but at least he made two decent saves later on in the game. White was anonymous throughout, except for managing to have the ball hit off him.

Didn't have much choice taking off Sekajja, he'd been fouled twice by Gordon and needed treatment both times, was injured. Didn't think Cole was one of our best players today, Pittman was much better, as was Keaghan.

Thought Kyle played well first half getting decent balls into the box but missed that chance when he broke up the pitch. Sives near lost us a goal when he decided to try and beat some players and lost possession at the halfway line, Alloa broke up the park and almost scored. Then he almost scored in his own net when he headed against the bar. Did well in attack getting onto Hippo's throw ins though.

Both Sives and Gallagher need to take care not to lose possession in midfield, both are guilty of going on runs and being caught up the pitch leaving us vulnerable at the back when they lose the ball up there.
You're lucky if this was your first game this season because it certainly wasn't our worst performance, was one of our better ones, we didn't lose. Laughing

Cheers, didn't see who it was that headed into the ground and over the bar but someone in front of me said it was White so i'll take your word for it that it was Kyle. Bloody hard thing to do from 4 yards out, esp into the artificial pitch as it cushions the impact when the ball is hit up the park, so feck knows how he managed to head it hard enough to bounce off the ground and over the bar.

Wasn't one of White's best games though.

Somebody slagging off Jordan White? Smithy klaxon blown.

That same somebody's FIRST GAME IN AGES - somewhere, Smithy is ready to explode.

For what it's worth, our forward line isn't even average - its L1 standard at best. White, Ogleby, Burchill, dare I say it Sekajja and Hippolyte  - not one of them has been anywhere near good enough. Players just seem to fucking shrink when the Livi jerseys go on. We're that bad.

I agree it wasn't one of Whites best games but I didn't think it was anybody's best game today. We at least showed a bit of fight to comeback twice and the only positive from today is we have gained a point on Cowdenbeath.

Absolute bombscare for us this season at times, kicking is a joke and cost us two goals, hasn't got a great defense infront of him but he's cost us so many points this season.

If our goalkeeper  had cut out his silly mistakes he has made this season we would be well clear of relegation.

And we wouldn't be playing in a cup final next Sunday if it wasn't for DJ, Smithy. Alternatively, we could all agree that we have a group of over-rated, poorly performing players, half of whom look like they couldn't give a fuck, led by management team who don't have a clue. That's why we're going down, because we're a shite team, not just one shite player.
