Bet that if this was a cup game there would be a lot more positive vibe about us winning it, weird!!

Left after the 3rd and we scored 2 when I got home, as well as hitting the bar. Might have been a different story if I just stayed home...

Gordon was a total idiot and cost us today and why the heck were some folk applauding him off the park?

The game was evenly matched up until Gordon's moment of madness. I felt Livi were starting to put some decent passing together when the red card changed everything.

As for their first goal, pathetic, shambolic call it what you will. The others were simply Morton exploiting our weakened defence but not helped by Burchill going three at the back.

One point after 5 games is simply not good enough and with the next 2 games against Rangers and Hibs it'll be one point after 7.

This early in the season and already I'm starting to worry that we 'll soon be cut adrift.

APPLAUDING OFF THE PARK?! Some of our c**** applauded that joke of a team off the park at full-time. Gordon's was never a red card. Burchill doesn't have a clue, fuck raging after that today. No excuses, we're utter shite and have been for far too long. We need to drive it home and start booing these useless bastards off the park, the attitude is rotten.

Teams a disgrace. They have no idea what they are doing and show no passion to win. Asked myself during the game "why am I still coming to watch this shite?"
Don't want Burchill to go but I'm afraid his tactics, or lack of, is becoming a strain on the whole club.

It was a pretty even game up to the sending off. Gordon made a rash challenge which certainly deserved a card. It was no worse though than Kidd of QoS’s tackle on Hyppolye a couple of weeks ago. Refereeing consistency would be nice. Then handing them a gift goal knocked the stuffing out of us. It had the opposite effect on Morton and they ran rampant for a while.
Morton were cute and dropping like stones every time anyone went close to them. At half time we had 11 fouls against to their 1. It took till well into the second half before the ref clicked on to what they were at.
It’s just not happening for us and I think we will all admit that the next two games are not ones that will get us back on track. There is a long way to go but we need to start picking points up soon from the other teams in our league. Fighting relegation two seasons in a row is soul destroying for the fans.

Agree with pretty much everything except the bold bits....he deliberately fouled the guy but it was not a heavy challenge, nor was it a dangerous challenge (more dangerous challenges throughout from Morton players went unpunished). He wasn't the last man & the guy wasn't clean through on goal. It was a calculated foul to by the side time to defend the set piece. The ref's decision change the game for sure.

I'd be changing the side for next week;

Gould
Millen Sives Cole Gallagher Longridge
Glen Gibbons Hippolyte
Pittman (if fit) or Buchanan
Sheerin

Millen & Longridge could be pushed up a necessary but I think we need to park the bus with 5 at the back. We also need to have players bombing forward when Sheerin gets it to support him.

Disagree I'm afraid; it wasn't a heavy or dangerous challenge, he effectively "clipped his ankle" causing him to trip up. Worse challenges went unpunished.

Agree with the rest.

Bizarre moment was the ref moving our wall back about 15 yards & then using his wee spray.

Would have been very interesting if the offside goal had counted or if Hippos shot off the underside of the bar had gone in. Morton didn't look too clever & were starting to panic after Sheerin scored (great finish BTW)

Liviforever has stated in the last few weeks that he felt that White and Sheerin would be a good partnership, well by all accounts they played well at Dumfries, they linked up very well in the goal against Clyde in the cup game a great assist from Sheerin for a great shot by White in that game.
Today once again a cracking assist from White to set up Sheerin who had an excellent finish.

Liviforever you may just have something in this suggestion as two big front men causing problems for defenders and allows some space for one another.

Was thinking that again after the match ended, they totally changed the game when they came on scoring those two goals and if Hippo's one off the crossbar had gone in then who knows, we may even have got a draw there. Mental end to the game after being 4-0 down. White jumped and won a header knocking it down for Sheerin but he was too close to White and the knock down was a couple of yards from him, if they got a few games together to build up an understanding, they could get a really good partnership going. Also think Glen links up well with White and perhaps would've done better with the runs up to the box if White had been playing.

Would try Mullen from the bench too, I think he'd be more effective against tired players.

Lexi I actually enjoyed the last 10 mins and can understand our fans giving them applause, we almost pulled off what would've been the most incredible comeback ever for Livi, very small margins today despite the scoreline.

Up till Gordon's red card there wasn't much in the game and I agree with Bertie that it wasn't a red card*, argued that point with a chap sitting in front of me, wasn't dangerous play and wasn't last man or stopping a goal scoring opportunity, was a yellow for a 'professional foul'. Glen actually got fouled similar to that last week and Stewart who kicked his legs got a yellow card.

Fecking ref didn't look like he was going to book a Morton player at all ignoring some of the blatant fouls they were doing, the one where he played adv then pulled it back to give us a foul but still didn't give a yellow was bewildering, was even more cynical than Gordon's and a damn sight more dangerous. Their no 8 was a diving wee git too, made Mullen look like an amateur at falling down.

Results couldn't have gone worse for us either, every team we wanted to lose won, just shows what a few wins can do though, Morton are right up the table and Raith & Dumbarton are heading back down, still too early to panic, two wins and we're back in amongst the pack. Can write off the first quarter but need to improve results in the 2nd one.

Could do with improving at the back, some slack defending and DJ could perhaps do with being dropped. Though I'd put our bad defending in this match down to losing Gordon and being out of sorts for the first goal then being picked off when we were chasing the game. DJ's bad kick out along the ground (does this a lot but has gotten away with it up till yesterday) giving them the ball contributed to us losing another goal and his palming the ball down from a long range shot almost caused another. I like DJ and he's a good shot stopped but he's made a few errors in games and might do him some good being dropped for Gould, competition for places keeps you on your toes but if you don't get dropped after not performing well it isn't giving you any reason to stay sharp.

On the positive I saw a few decent passages of play from us and still signs we're improving in front of goal.  Those two goals will maybe do us the world of good going into our next game, ok I know it's Sevco and they're running over teams this season but it will at least give us a lift getting them and almost a 3rd, rather than a 4-0 gubbing that would've left us deflated.

*May well be worth appealing Gordon's red card.

Could you even imagine watching that team? Probably the most brutal assault on the eyes ever.

I think Burchy, while still new to the job knows what he is doing. We will be safe at the end of the season. Granted his signings have been brutal.

Against Sevco I'd have Buchanan as a lone striker or White & Sheerin if we're going to be bold and have a go at them. Def wouldn't have Sheerin as the lone striker and White needs support too but Buchanan is more mobile and will run about looking for scraps.

We'll most likely get beat anyway so I'd rather we went 2 up front and had a go at them.

If I remember correctly, the foul wasnt just a "trip" he did wipe the boy out. Hard one to call for any ref, he wasnt through on goal for a goalscoring opportunity, but Gordon never had intentions of going for the ball. All comes from a stupid mistake by Millen, who is absolute dug meat, no wonder Dunfermline fans hated the kid, hes absolutely rank.

Next week is going to be brutal and tbh im not even going to look out for the score. It might be a good kick up the arse if we are humiliated.

play 11 men behind the ball and it wont be so bad, theres not even any point in attacking sevco, they will hit us on the break and our lack of pace will be the death of us in that game.

tough times, as I said before, we will get relegated.

White and Sheerin should be given some decent game time together as they both try to play each other in,don't know if this the game to do it however if only one it would be White for me because he can hold it in and bring others into play and his defensive contribution will be very important at Ibrox.

We were comfortable and on course to win until the sending off. Red card or not, it was a stupid challenge by Gordon and to be honest, he deserved it for some of the things he's gotten away with so far. I agree he's been one of our better players so far but he gets away with some poorly timed tackles and dodgey part-timer tactics.

Following the sending off, we panicked for the rest of the first half and again poor defending and a lack of communication led to us falling behind again. Buchanan should've finished from a few yards out to make it 1-1 but we fell apart from then. Organisation was piss poor from Burchill: just because he chucked on a striker for a defender doesn't mean we're gonna cause problems for Morton.

Players are seriously lacking responsibility and the organisation needs to improve throughout the team. Drop DJ, Longridge, Millen and Mullen because they're not cutting it right now.

Was that in the 2nd half when we missed from the keepers rebound, then we scored from the 2nd rebound only for it to be offside?

We had our chances in that game despite being a man down, Morton are a bit gung ho and shit in defence too.

Livingston fans are too nice to the players. They'll accept absolutely awful performances and applaud the team off because they showed up for the final 5 minutes, never mind being 4-0 down at home to Morton. I booed the team off yesterday and was the only one in the ground to do so I'd imagine. Maybe if we start booing them off they'll realise that going 4-0 down at home to a team managed by Jim Duffy with Bobby Barr scoring one of the goals isn't on.

That was an absolutely disgraceful performance yesterday. Burchill hasn't a clue, how many times has he taken off Longridge and replaced him with White? Absolute suicide yesterday. I just don't like happy clappers, an absolute diddy mentality and a waste of space. Nowhere near good enough from Livi yesterday.

I think you have to be rational though, we weren't losing till the red card, Bobby Barr is a thorn in teams side despite you not rating him and was ripping Gordon apart for pace when he fouled him. Set up a goal, scored a goal, and should've scored another when he ran the length of the pitch then hit it wide with only DJ left in front of him.

The fact we didn't give up despite being 4 goals down and nearly got it back to 4-3 making an exciting end to the game deserved something. I think the fans just reacted to the effort the players put in getting the 2 goals back and White, Hippo, Sheerin, Gibbons and Glen didn't deserve anything other than applause.

I doubt they walked off feeling good anyway and will be just as annoyed as the fans about losing that game.

I think it's good to be annoyed when we lose and the manager has to shoulder a lot of the blame for yesterday's result. He is not alone in not wanting to change players and formations , Strachan springs to mind, however yesterday was a must win game for us so imo we should have gone two up front from the start.

After we went down to ten men he brought on White because he knows the Bigman gives 100% effort every times he plays and he is still our biggest and best goal threat irrespective of the criticism he receives. Why he didn't play him and Buchanan from the start beggars belief but when you are down to ten men taking a defender off was always going to be dodgy.

Morton were there for the taking at times and had we started on the front foot instead of being too cagey things could have been so different. As I have said in another post it would be good to see Sheerin and White get an extended run in a 352 or 442 formation. When they both play together you can see it causes the defenders to not know who to mark as they are both big guys and this creates space for one another as was shown yesterday and in the games against Clyde and queens.
