Not got the shocking offside from a pass back refereeing blunder but doesn't look like their keeper was impeded for Crighton's goal being chopped off, he was never getting near it.

Poor soft penalty from Buchanan, too easy for the keeper to save it, Gallagher had more power in his header when he scored. Poor defending for Riley's goal too, nobody picked him up and he gets a free header in the centre of our box. McAllister gets in front of Gallagher for his goal but it is well put away. Good finish by Buchanan for his goal, should try hitting it like that when he takes penalties. Lovely wee cheeky back heel for Byrne's winner too.

Agreed LF, not sure what is wrong with Crighton's header. Looks like Lithgow is just standing his ground behind their 'keeper. Have to say as well, it's pretty stinking defending for both their goals. Not sure if that's a result of playing 4 CBs at once but it surely wouldn't hurt our chances defensively to actually have players in their proper positions.

Think Buchanan should be off penalties, too. Seems to favour a tame approach which gives their 'keeper a better chance, IMO. Either get him to put some power behind it or get Cadden or De Vita on them.

Congrats to Sean Crighton getting in the the SPFL's team of the week at RB.

Dunno what Buchanan has to do to get picked these days, first SPFL player to hit the 20 goal mark this season but doesn't deserve to be put in?

Highlights seem to show that there was nothing wrong with the first disallowed goal. A bit mean not to show the howler.

On checking I see that Saturday's ref was the same one that sent off Miller and Lithgow in the first East Fife away game this season. We won the Miller appeal and to me Lithgow was also harshly sent off that day. I don't think Mr D Lowe likes us much. Razz

The Lino flags for offside on the first goal... Lithgow is potentially offside as Crighton heads it. He seems to be beyond the keeper with only 1 defender closer to the goal and he goes towards the ball, this would mean it was correct to disallow the goal. However it's not totally clear from the camera angle.

What was the Peterheid keeper doing for the winner? He is diving across goal as soon as Byrne plays it towards goal.

What does Buchanan have to do? Score penalties.

Lithgow isn't offside, and wasn't impeding the keeper either, lino is a fecking clown. Mullen is maybe in an offside position though but isn't near the action as it goes over his head, so isn't offside either. The ball goes over their keeper and he falls back into the net going for it, nobody touched him.

Missing the pen should have no bearing on being put into the SPFL team of the week, he still scored goals in those games and hit 20 goals before any other player, if that doesn't deserve a place in their bloody team of the week I don't know what does.
He is behind Andy Ryan in their team of the half season too, how the feck can a player who scores more goals in the same league and is the top goal scorer in the league and the SPFL get blanked for Ryan!!!!

Looked at it again and you're right that Lithgow is onside... But Mullen isn't offside either, interfering or not. There is a point where Mullen appears to touch the keeper, it's nothing but possibly the reason.

Mind you there was that Lino at Livi the other week who kept flagging for offside in the first half when it wasnt

The ref was up with play and giving the goal until he saw the lino's flag. The players' celebrations went on for what seemed like a good wee while before it was chalked off. The ref also went with the other lino's flag for the second disallowed goal. What was annoying for me was that at one point in the first half the lino correctly gave Livi a throw in which the ref (much further away) overruled.

And folk wonder why I think they're aw oot tae get us! Rolling Eyes

On the formation used against Peterhead...

Match report on OCS says we played 3 at the back with Halkett and De Vita as wing backs!!!!

So is the match reporter deluded or is it LF's trustworthy source?

The match reporter did once describe Livi in their black kit for a game that they had played in the blue kit. I emailed the webmaster and he edited it.

He has also described the first disallowed goal as De Vita's cross going directly in... Looked like a Crighton header to me. So I think it must be the match reporter that hasn't got a scooby.

Our OS twitter and match report also said Mullen went through to score from the pass back that was ruled offside, everyone else said it was Buchanan.

The Lions thought they had regained the lead on 72 minutes when Mullen latched onto a short pass back by the Peterhead defence to slot home only to be inexplicably flagged offside, with the better-placed referee choosing not to overrule him.

The DR reporter who was covering our game has Buchanan running onto the pass back, so has everyone else I've seen posting about it, incl Andylivi who said Crighton was at RB and Lithgow LB.
The officials then came up with a stunning call as Peterhead’s Simon Ferry played a short pass back to his keeper with Buchanan nipping in and tapping the ball into the empty net only for it to somehow be ruled out for offside much to the outrage of the Livi players, staff and fans.

Dunno how the OS report can have Halkett as a wingback either when everyone else said he was the CB pairing with Gallagher, pretty easy to see if someone is in the centre of our defence or on the wing. Looks like our OS has made a right pig's ear of their report on the game.

The highlights suggest Lithgow & Crighton as the LB & RB based on their positions in quite a few of the "frames" of the video.
