Not overly optimistic this will be on, tbh. Was a bit frosty this morning and unless it's really heating up before tomorrow afternoon I'll be stunned.

Otherwise, 1-0 Livi, FG 60 mins.

If this is on and its a big if will be intersting to see the state of the pitch after the inclemant weather weve had lately.Guarenteed it will definatly not be conducive to free flowing fooball thats for sure.Depends which team are really up for it.They will both be rusty and possibly may cancel one another out as well as the fear of losing.Maybe home advantage may just about swing it our way at the start of a very important period for us.Its definatly winnable.Do it Livi!!!

Does anyone know if there is any plan for a pitch inspection today?

I'll stick to my original prediction, 3-0 Livi, fg 8 mins. Boyd, Mackin and a Josh Mullin free kick for our goals.

I'll stick to my earlier prediction, both sides could be a bit out of sorts not having played for a while.

Could be like a season opener all over again... So a 2-2 draw with the first goal in 32 mins

Well that was frustrating and one to forget, Falkirk just turned it into a scrap with them fouling us every 2 mins, just couldn't get anything going with the play stopping and starting all the time. First half would get football banned, better 2nd half but nothing much troubled their keeper, I think i'll just put this from my mind and move onto the Utd game, hopefully we play a bit better or we're going to get humped.

Poor game. A very stinking first half from us which I could possibly attribute to the lack of game time recently and the flu which has struck the squad apparently... Pretty worrying that a Falkirk side low on confidence and on a barren run should have been 2-0 up on us at the interval. Looked a lot better second half when Mackin went off and Boyd found space between the midfield and attack, looks like he could be a very handy player for us. I do really feel that we need to get a striker in though, as much as I like the players that we currently have up front, I can’t see any combination of them actually making us look like a potent threat going forward. I’m hopeful we can somehow keep it very tight at the back for the remainder of the season and continue to sneak a goal here and there, I very much doubt there’ll be many games where we score 2 or 3 for example.

Canny wait to hear what Orco thought on the ref, how Miller and Sibbald didn't get a booking let alone sent off is a fecking joke, and Taiwo should've had a few cards in the first half but didn't get booked till the 2nd half, he also should've been sent off. Says it all when it was Rafa being booked after being kicked all over the place and getting no protection from the ref. If that's how Hartley has Falkirk playing I can't see them being able to field a team the amount of bookings they'll get, not all refs will be as incompetent letting them away with so many fouls as that clown was tonight.

Can't recall the two chances that they should have scored in the first half, but I agree with most of what has been posted... I would say this though, for all their dirty, niggily, pushing, pulling, climbing & fouling, they were throwing themselves in to block our efforts in the second half in particular. They are showing a bit of fighting spirit to suggest that Hartley might just have them with a scrapping mindset to try and battle their way out of trouble.

As I suggested pre-match it was 2 teams who haven't played for a while & it looked it.

I don't think Mackin should be starting, his work rate has improved but he doesn't hold it up and lay it off. Toddy on the other hand does, so I would start with him & keep Mackin for later when the opposition defence is tiring & he can feed on the scraps & ricochets that occur.

On the bookings for diving... I think Toddy was clipped/impeded BUT he took a step or two before going down so it looked like he wasn't & he had no reason at that point to go down as he wasn't off balance or otherwise compromised, he just wasn't going to get the ball, so in the modern game where you don't get anything unless you fall down this was therefore a dive. The Falkirk guy who got booked for diving was hilarious because he looked like he was going to try to initiate contact with Gallagher to make it look like a foul & Dec just stepped out of his way & let him look like a pillock, clear dive.

There were two other incidents... Mullin on a mazy was just about to move the ball for a clear shot at goal & got bumped over. We didn't get the foul & he didn't get booked, if the ref thought it wasn't a foul then he should have booked him. Also, Hippo backing into Dec in the box and ending up on his backside. A few near me were shouting book him for diving. I disagree with that, I think the ref got it right, there was no foul by Dec nor a dive by Hippo, it was just the pure physics of the situation. Hippo and his team mate claiming it was a foul was laughable.

Ref was poor with the amount of cheap niggles he let them get away with but there were a couple we got away with as well.

Hopefully we can pick up our pre-postponement form again, otherwise we will drift until some of the teams below us catch up & pass us.

Well, what can I say about that other than it was the Gavin Duncan show. The only surprise was that he wasn't able to award a penalty to Falkirk. He certainly would have if there had been any penalty box play just as he did with a ludicrous one in our last game v St Mirren.
Falkirk set out to try to win the physical battle early on with Mark Kerr being rightly booked in 3 minutes for stopping a promising Livi move. After that they got away with murder with Taiwo and Grant being lucky to stay on the park. In saying that I had no problem with the Toddy and Lithgow bookings which were deserved. The ref was also fooled by the way Falkirk go down every time they feel pressured on the ball.
We were under par for the first half hopefully because of the long lay off but we made up for that with a spirited second half display which produced a couple of near misses.
I wondered at the choice of strip, with us in our away colours. I found out after the game that Falkirk had turned up with only their home strip in spite of having registered in advance that they would be bringing their away colours. Apparently they have been reported by the ref. Given that Hartley and Nicoll put undue pressure on the ref to call off the original match it seems as if gamesmanship is looming large with their management team in advance of their clear out of players in January.
No doubt their superior financial position will save them from the ignominy of relegation but I would be delighted if in the end it did not.

Three weeks without a game; flu hitting the squad; the first game since our main goal threat leaving and a Falkirk team trying to prove themselves to their new manager is a point well earned.

A Falkirk player did that right in front of me on the wing and got a foul for it too. Got a wee bump as he was running for the ball, was getting beaten to the ball by 2 of our players so just took a dive and the ref blew for a foul. He had taken 2 or 3 strides after the initial contact and was steady on his feet but realised he wasn't going to win the race to the ball.

Mullin was really poor with his deliveries into the box from free kicks, we're used to much better from him but obv another suffering from the long lay off and flu epidemic we've had. Nearly every one of them went straight to the keeper for easy takes.

And Cadden needs to learn to flick the ball past the opposition player when he turning and running past him, I've noticed this in other games when players are tight to him, he always tries to turn and dribble past him, and all the opposition player does is stick out his foot to get the ball from him, a wee flick on and turn of pace and he'd be away.

Agree with other comments that have been made about Boyd, looks a tidy wee player with good close control, for his first game  and it being the niggly one it was he was impressive, a little too kean to try and score in his debut, but i'm sure he'll net a few once he settles in.

Also good to see Robinson back, we'll need him in this busy schedule, he had a fantastic strike rate before being injured, all away from home too, hadn't realised till I read Callum Carson's twitter feed that it was his first home game for us.

Hopefully Brown isn't far away either, he's not had much luck with injuries, but he was voted East Fife's PoTY last season so must be a decent player, would like to see him back fit and showing us what he can do.

Think the least said about the referrees performance last night the better,he had an absolute howler. For me it was the preverbial game of two halves. They shaded it in the first and we were definatly on top in the second. The antics of Kerr Miller and Tiawo were a disgrace to watch from them but thats probably the orders they got from Hartley to boot us off the park at every opportunity.Thought Rafa worked his socks of and put a helluva shift in,wasnt surprised when he got subbed as he could hardly walk.the lad Boyd looks promising and hopefully when he learns to play with his new teamates will justify Hoppy,s faith in him.Not going to talk about Mackin but suffice to say that when Toddy came on we went for it and upped our game.Shame about the dive though silly boy but their all at it these days.Anyways we move on to Tannadice next.Nothing to worry about there eh?.
